China Publishing Group is a large-scale national publishing institution, founded in view of intensifying the reform and accelerating the development in publishing industry. Xin Hua Distribution Group Corporation, a holding company of CPG, is composed of Xinhua Bookstore Head Office, China National Publishing Industry TradingCorporation, China National Publications Import & Export (Group) Corporation, China National Post Logistics Co., Ltd. and China National Post Mail-order Co., Ltd. The China Publications Distributing Group, with the production and marketing of different media publications as its main business,integrates publishing and marketing, chain-operation, import & export trade, copyright license trade, printing and reproduction, information technology (IT) services, scientific research and development, and fund-raising.Mr Du of CPG

 With a total of 6,000 employees at their posts, the group owns 27 publishing houses, including the vice-shingle publishing houses, which annually publishes 5500 titles of books, 500 titles of audio-visual products and electronic publications, 47 titles of periodicals and 3 titles of newspaper. Every year, the Group is engaged in over 2,000 titles of books and periodicals copyright license trade, imports and exports more than 200,000 titles of books, publications, newspaper, audio-visual products and electronic publications.

 The Group is under the leadership of the CPC Ministry of Propaganda and accepts the guidance of the General Administration of Press and Publications. In the China Publishing Group, the CPC Leading Group is the core of leadership, under which the Board of Management takes fullresponsibility for the management of the Group’s business.

The task of the Group is: to grasp publishing-orientated, ensure the control ability; innovate in systems, enhance operation management; found marketing system, improve publishing circulation, increase the value of assets of the nation; Strengthen the publishing industry, spread the advanced culture, carry forward the national spirit.

 The development of the Group is divided into three steps: the first step (2002): to prepare and found basic construction; the second step (2003-2004): to integrate resources and adjust construction, reorganize the business; the third step (2005): to accumulate capital, scale operation and practisedevelopment by strides.

 Now the Group is steadily approaching its strategic goal of becoming a crack force in China and a large-scale top-notch publishing organization worldwide.
